Topic and Guests: Special program The Right to Migrate produced by Africa Now! Latin Media Collective, and Shay wa Nana. The show is hosted by Zein El-Amine of Shay wa Nana, Oscar Fernandez of Latin Media Collective, and Mwiza Munthali of Africa Now! June is Immigrant Heritage Month.  Today WPFW commemorates this occasion with the special program The Right to Migrate produced by Africa Now! Latin Media Collective, and Shay wa Nana.  The program will dissect topics surrounding migration with experts on the subject going beyond the main stream media narrative on the subject.  The show features Ms. Cueeva Bitterly activist in Ireland who works with Palestinian and Syrian Refugees.  Also taking part in the special program is Dr. Alvaro Huerta, professor of urban and regional planning and ethnic & women's studies at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.  He is also the author of Reframing the Latino Immigration Debate: Towards a Humanistic Paradigm. The another activist on the show is Ms. Nunu Kidane, Director of Priority Africa Network, and the Coordinator of Africa Moves: a Pan African Migration Platform mobilizing African civil society groups on migration policy engagement.  The show also features Ms. Tia Oso, the National Organizer for Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI). A member of BAJI’s senior leadership team, Ms. Oso coordinates BAJI’s flagship project, the Black Immigration Network (BIN) a national network of over 40 organizations, along with academics, activists and faith leaders in communities serving African-Americans and Black Immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean.  Another participant is Dr. Tasneem Siddiqui, an incoming visiting assistant professor in the Department of History, Politics, and Social Justice at Winston-Salem State University. She was a fellow at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) and the Primary Investigator for ISPU’s American Muslims Elections Project 2016.
